What is Helping Farmers Farm?
Helping Farmers Farm is a comprehensive volunteer management and compliance platform built specifically for agriculture. We help Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) programs, co-ops, and independent farms seamlessly track seasonal work commitments, manage digital liability waivers, and visualize their community impact.
Can I volunteer at multiple different farms?
Yes! That is the beauty of our discovery network. As a volunteer, you can browse the public directory and request to join multiple farm rosters. Your single account tracks all of your hours and impact across every farm you visit.
How do I join a farm's volunteer roster?
You can join a farm in two ways: by clicking a direct invite link sent to you by a Farm Manager, or by searching for a local farm in our Public Directory and submitting a request to join. Once approved, you will be prompted to sign any required safety waivers before accessing the farm's dashboard.
Who can see my personal data and logged hours?
Your data is strictly private. Your personal profile, contact information, and logged hours are only visible to you and the specific Farm Managers whose rosters you have explicitly joined. Your profile is completely hidden from the public and from other farms on the platform.
How do the digital liability waivers work?
When a farm requires a liability waiver or compliance document, you can review and sign it electronically directly from your dashboard. We use a highly secure, WORM-compliant (Write Once, Read Many) vault to generate an immutable PDF receipt of your signature, ensuring full legal protection for both you and the farm.
How do I track my CSA work commitment?
Once approved on a farm's roster, use your personal dashboard to log your shifts. You can select the specific crop, the activity (Planting, Tending, Harvesting, Cultivating, or General Maintenance), and enter your hours. The platform's pacing engine will automatically calculate your progress toward your seasonal work share goal.
Is the platform free to use?
For volunteers and CSA members: Yes, the platform is 100% free forever.
For Farm Managers: Farms operate on a simple, annual subscription model to access the enterprise tools, manager command center, and legal vault. We offer a 60-day free trial so farms can test the system during peak season with zero risk.
